Setting up Okta Verify on a mobile device

Okta Verify Setup - via text

1. On the OKTA Login screen, enter your username and click on the 'Next' button



2. Type in your password and click on the 'Verify' button



3. Click 'Setup' under Phone



4. Select to receive a verification code via SMS. Select your country/region and enter your number. Once done, select the option 'Receive a code via SMS'



5. Enter the code sent to you in the 'Enter Code' field and select 'Verify'



6. Select 'Setup' under Okta Verify



7. Select the option 'Text me a setup link'



8. Select your Country/ region and enter your number. Then select 'Send me the setup link'



9. Open up the SMS sent to you and select the URL



10. Click to download the Okta verify app (if is not installed) or click in the “tap here to retry“  link to setup the account



11. Click the 'Get Started' button on Okta Verify app



12. If the device has a biometrics or facial recognition feature, the option to 'Enable' it for the account will appear. Activating it is optional, but it is strongly recommended to do so so you don't have to enter a password to log into the application



13. A message will appear to say your account has been added, you can then go back to the page you had open to sign in and will be logged into the application


Okta Verify Setup - via email

1. On the OKTA Login screen, enter your username and click on the 'Next' button



2. Type in your password and click on the 'Verify' button



3. Click 'Setup' under Phone



4. Select to receive a verification code via SMS. Select your country/region and enter your number. Once done, select the option 'Receive a code via SMS'



5. Enter the code sent to you in the 'Enter Code' field and select 'Verify'



6. Select 'Setup' under Okta Verify



7. Select the option 'Email me a setup link'



8. Enter your email address (the same one linked to your account) and select 'Send me the setup link'. A message will then appear confirming an email has been sent to you



9. Open up the email sent to you and select 'Activate Okta Verify Push'



10. Click to download the Okta verify app (if is not installed) or click in the “tap here to retry“  link to setup the account



11. Click the 'Get Started' button on Okta Verify app



12. If the device has a biometrics or facial recognition feature, the option to 'Enable' it for the account will appear. Activating it is optional, but it is strongly recommended to do so so you don't have to enter a password to log into the application



13. A message will appear to say your account has been added, you can then go back to the page you had open to sign in and will be logged into the application
